Carrying on with my home travel theme (I’m feeling homesick in Amsterdam at the moment!), this is one my favourite photographs in the entire world. It’s me and my older sister doing what English children do best at the beach – digging holes. My family took a lot of trips to the south coast of England growing up. Despite the reputation of the English seaside being somewhere in between the camp ice-cream and fish n’ chips galore of Brighton and the grey, freezing seas located a little bit further up, Cornwall and Devon are actually very, very beautiful areas. Just like my previous post about Nottinghamshire, this area of England is worth taking a day or two out of the typical tourist trap of London! Go fill up on real English cider, scones and clotted cream and enjoy that cold, cold sea. Marvellous.
