This picture was taken on… the second? Fifth? Maybe even sixth day of my trip through Russia via Trans-Siberian Rail. After about a day the novelty of being on a train on one of the most renowned train journeys in the world had worn off. Day flowed seamlessly into night, night seamlessly back into day, and all sense of time eventually disappeared. All I know of this picture is that we were somewhere in the middle of Russia, heading swiftly and surely to the capital of Mongolia. An incredible trip, but one that I will not be taking again!

Beautiful photo! Would love to ride on the Trans-Siberian railway – did you not enjoy it? 😦

Thank you!
Noooo, I did… but it just wasn’t the experience I thought it was going to be. It was very, very, VERY long, and we didn’t make any stops between Moscow and Ulanbaataar, which was possibly a very bad choice! It was still a crazy experience I’m glad I’ve done though, and I would absolutely recommend it – just maybe take it all with a pinch of salt haha
